Music & Worship

The purpose of the Music &Worship Ministry at Lafitte Baptist Church is to offer unto God the gift of music as an act of worship to praise and glorify Him. There are a variety of opportunities for involvement in the Music & Worship Ministry.

Worship Ministry

Worship is a time of fellowship, celebration, and learning. Each service centers on the presentation of God's Word. Our goal is to share the life-changing message of the Bible in a clear, practical, and relevant way. We encourage our members to live a life of worship, doing everything as an act of worship unto God.

Lafitte Baptist Church has three worship times each week. Sundays worship times are 11:00 am and 6:00 pm, and on Wednesdays we gather for a prayer service at 6:30 pm.

Music Ministry

Music is an integral part of ministry and worship at Lafitte Baptist Church. From our Children's Choir and Student Choir Ministries to our Adult Choir and Senior Adult Choir Ministries, we seek to involve His people in worship and worship leadership. Though our heartfelt desire is to be well-rehearsed and prepared, our primary goal is to worship God Almighty by giving our best musical offering.

Children’s Choir

The Children's Choir Ministry at Lafitte is made up of children who are in the 1st - 6th grades. This group meet on Wednesdays @ 6:30 in the gym.

Under the direction of Kim Martin, our Children's Choir presents annual musicals each spring and fall. They also sing in several worship services and other programs throughout the year.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is our primary worship leadership team, with membership open to adults, college age and older. If you desire to share your faith in Christ through the use of your musical talents, we would love for you to be a part of this ministry. This choir meets Wednesdays at 6:30 upstairs in the choir room.

Our Adult Choir sings every Sunday morning in the 11:00 Worship Service. They present musical productions at Christmas, Easter, Independence Day and provide music for other special occasions.

This group is very dedicated in their service to God through singing and Worship leadership. They share a wonderful fellowship molded by a common goal.

Our Adult Choir debuted their very first CD, "Make It Glorious!," on November 19, 2006.

J.O.Y. Singers
The J.O.Y. Singers (Just Older Youth) is our Senior Adult Ministry Choir. It is made up of adults ages 50 and up. Newly reorganized, they rehearse every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary. On the 3rd Tuesday of each month, following our rehearsal, this choir enjoys a lunch-time fellowship at a local restaurant.
